The Diploma in Contemporary Music Level 5 is a one year, full-time music qualification that develops musicianship and performance skills. Students are given opportunities to experience all aspects of music including assisting in the annual Vision College tour to schools and other performance events, developing and strengthening their musical knowledge and being prepared for the Diploma in Performance Music Level 6. The course is unique because it is taught within a Christian environment.
This one-year diploma focuses on developing musical knowledge and performance skills. Students can study the Voice or Instrument elective, Music Production, Music Industry, Songwriting and Arranging, Music Fundamentals, Popular Music, Ensemble Performance and Theology. Unlike other one-year music diplomas, this Vision College diploma satisfies the requirements for the full first year of the Bachelor of Music. All applicants need to be able to play an instrument or sing and will receive one-on-one tuition that will take their skills to a more advanced level. This programme allows students to develop their musical, technical and performance skills as individuals. In addition, they are involved in various ensembles and music teams. Students will complete a Theology paper and enjoy weekly worship times together with other Vision College students and staff.
