Bachelor of Music (CCM)

The only Christian music degree in New Zealand

The only Christian music degree in NZ!

Enrol in the Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Christian Music) and study the type of music you love - Rock, Pop, R&B, Jazz … even Classical if you like.  The degree is based in a dynamic Christian atmosphere, helping you to grow in your faith while taking your musical skills to an advanced level.

Take Your Skills to a Highly Advanced Level

The Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Christian Music) is a robust and challenging three year music degree.  It combines both performance and academic study.  As a student you will Major in Vocals, an Instrument or Song Writing, in which you will receive highly advanced one-on-one tuition.  Plus you will develop research and academic skills.

The degree is unique because it focuses on the special context of modern Christian music, including worship music. You will complete one theology paper each year and enjoy weekly student worship times together with other Vision College students.

I love playing music and I love teaching music. Thanks to the degree I now get to work full-time doing what I love!Tom Chapman-Smith, Head of Music, Morrinsville High School.
Bachelor of Music Graduate

You’ll also study modern styles of music, working in a band and music production (optional).  This becomes an excellent platform for a music career in either the workplace or ministry. It is also recognised by universities for further study in music and related fields such as education (to become a secondary school music teacher).  Our graduates have become teachers, session musicians, church music directors, professional musicians and full-time music tutors.

Study in Hamilton or Christchurch

Students can study all three years of the degree at our Hamilton campus.  Or study the first two years at our Christchurch campus, and the final year in Hamilton.
