Enrol in the Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Christian Music) and study the type of music you love - Rock, Pop, R&B, Jazz … even Classical if you like. The degree is based in a dynamic Christian atmosphere, helping you to grow in your faith while taking your musical skills to an advanced level.
The Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Christian Music) is a robust and challenging three year music degree. It combines both performance and academic study. As a student you will Major in Vocals, an Instrument or Song Writing, in which you will receive highly advanced one-on-one tuition. Plus you will develop research and academic skills.
The degree is unique because it focuses on the special context of modern Christian music, including worship music. You will complete one theology paper each year and enjoy weekly student worship times together with other Vision College students.
You’ll also study modern styles of music, working in a band, music production and the music industry. This becomes an excellent platform for a music career in either the workplace or ministry. It is also recognised by universities for further study in music and related fields such as education (to become a secondary school music teacher). Our graduates have become teachers, church music directors, professional musicians and full-time music tutors.

In the first year of the degree as well as developing a sound knowledge of music theory, students choose to major in either Vocals, an Instrument or Song Writing. Students opting for the instrument stream can choose instruments from contemporary (rock) or orchestral disciplines.
Students must complete all core papers, the Christian paper and both papers in their chosen stream.
The second year of the degree programme allows students to further develop in their chosen stream and to specialise in Music Education, Business Studies or Music Production. By this stage students are developing a high level of skill in their stream. Students will study stimulating music subjects that require critical thinking, verbal and written communication as well as showcasing their talent, developing confidence and professionalism.

Students must complete a minimum of five core papers, plus Performance Workshop, one Christian paper and both papers in their chosen stream.
The theology strand continues with a third year theology paper creating graduates with an informed and highly developed biblical understanding of music and ministry. Students will develop their musical knowledge and skills to a highly advanced level and are equipped for a career or ministry of their choosing. They will also develop research and academic skills enabling them to become lifelong learners who continue to grow and achieve.
