Diploma in Christian Leadership (Executive)

Advanced Leadership Training For Experienced Ministers

Reading books and attending conferences is an important part of personal development. But when was the last time you applied yourself to intentional study of leadership and ministry practises, in order to grow?

Would it stir you to sit with other experienced Pastors and wrestle with concepts of theology, the Church’s role in culture, and the challenge of leading transformational change?

Have you examined emerging management practises and explored where these can be applied effectively in local churches and ministries?

Have you ever reflected about the knowledge you learnt at Bible College - how transforming it was … and how much more there is to learn?

There is always so much more to learn

The Diploma in Christian Leadership (Executive) is designed exclusively with Pastors in mind.  Entry is restricted to experienced Pastors to ensure that speakers and discussions address issues from a mature practitioner’s viewpoint.  Take your personal development to a higher level as you engage with peers and experts from throughout New Zealand.

How the Executive Programme Works

We know your role as a pastor is a busy one, so the Executive Programme has been created to give you four high-impact times throughout the year.

The high-impact times are centred around four block courses each year.  Pastors receive readings to complete in the weeks leading up to each block course. The block course then runs for four days, from Monday – Thursday. The assessments for each paper are generally completed at home, before and after the block course.

Focusing on a single topic over that time enables you to internalise the learning and apply it effectively in your ministry work.

You’ll meet Pastors from a variety of denominations at the Executive Programme which allows for rich and relevant discussion throughout the course and cross-pollination of ideas with others in full-time ministry.  You will be introduced to new ideas and concepts for ministry and leadership and collect new resources to enhance and develop your ministry.

Papers

Each block course covers one paper towards the Diploma in Christian Leadership (Executive).  The teaching is delivered at an elevated level, targeted to the high calibre of Pastors in the room. We are committed to regularly securing expert guest lecturers who are experienced leaders in their field.

12 courses in total are required to gain the qualification. Pastors may start the qualification at any one of the block courses during the three year cycle.

You’re Welcome to Test It Out First

Pastors have the opportunity to complete papers for “Audit”. Audit students can do the readings and attend the block course, but are not required to complete assignments. Audit students complete the course for interest sake or personal development, but do not earn credits towards the qualification.  Audit fees are less than full credit students. If you are not sure whether or not you want to commit to the full Executive Programme, this can be a good way to try it out.
