Diploma in Christian Leadership

Develops your full leadership potential

Do you have a desire to be an influential leader? Do you want to make things happen? Would you like to work full or part-time for a church or ministry?

The Diploma in Christian Leadership is a one year intensive leadership development programme that has been designed for people who feel called to be involved in leadership roles in the workplace and in Christian ministry. It is a full-time year of study that follows on from the Certificate in Ministry (Level 4) or Diploma in Ministry (Level 5).

The Diploma in Christian Leadership programme focuses intensely on leadership - developing your knowledge and skill.  Topics include leading teams, strategic leadership, personal leadership, managing a church and leading church growth.  This study is combined with an internship of 15 hours per week in your local church or ministry.

These internship hours provide an opportunity to put your learning into practice and gain ministry experience. At the same time you’ll continue to develop your knowledge and skills within the course content. Internship placements must be approved by the College. Students usually complete the internship in their local church, although alternatives will be considered.

The internship is complemented by a mentoring component to ensure that the learning that takes place is supported and evaluated in a safe environment. The mentor must also be approved by the College and will usually be your Pastor or significant leader.

There are four block courses throughout the year, based in Hamilton, that complement the self-directed study you complete at home. The entire Diploma in Christian Leadership is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience that will enable you to grow into your full leadership potential and prepare you for staff roles and leading churches.
