NZIM Diploma in Management

Fast track your business career

The New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM) is New Zealand’s largest professional management organisation. NZIM created the NZIM Diploma in Management to provide a thorough grounding in business and management practice appropriate for people wishing to enter management roles in business.  Vision College is an accredited provider of this NZIM programme.

The Diploma focuses on fundamental business principles and management techniques that may see you promoted to middle-management positions.  Topics include employment related practices, introductory level accounting, computing, economics, marketing and more.

On Campus: February or July. 
Online: Any month Feb - November.
International students: Possible start dates are February, July, September or November, depending on numbers of students starting on those dates.

Semester A: 13th February - 13th July
Semester B: 16th July - 30th November - Hamilton
                  16th July - 14th December - Christchurch

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants under 20 years of age must have:

- minimum of 14 numeracy credits at level 1 or above in Mathematics on the National Qualifications Framework; and 
- 50 credits at level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at level 2 or above in English; 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing. 
- or equivalent to the above.

  • Applicants aged 20 years or over may require an interview.
  • Students for whom English is a second language must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5, or equivalent.  If the student has completed a qualification in English at New Zealand Diploma level or above, the IELTS requirement may be waived.

Provisional Entry

Provisional Entry may be granted to applicants who do not meet the criteria above, but present evidence of ability to succeed and are able to show they are well prepared to study the programme.
