The New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) is one of the most popular business qualifications in New Zealand. Endorsed nationally by employers, professional associations and educational institutions, the NZDipBus focuses on personal and professional development, equipping graduates with a broad range of practical and relevant business skills and knowledge.
On completion of the NZDipBus qualification, graduates will gain an internationally recognised qualification in applied management and business studies enabling entry into business careers, or further undergraduate study.
Business studies at Vision College can also meet the academic requirements for students wishing to join the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants or the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (if choosing the accounting stream), in addition to membership of the New Zealand Institute of Management.
One of the significant advantages of choosing to study NZDipBus at Vision College is that we also offer a unique set of shorter business diplomas, each made up of 6 papers from the NZDipBus. What this means is that while you are completing your NZDipBus you can earn one or two other management qualifications at the same time, without completing any extra papers!
For example, while completing your NZDipBus you could also earn your NZIM Diploma in Management (Level 5), Diploma in Small Business Management (Level 5), Diploma in Accounting (Level 6), Diploma in Marketing (Level 6), or Diploma in Human Resources (Level 6). Depending on the papers you choose you may even achieve two of these, in addition to your NZDipBus.
Our programme also gives the option of achieving one of the recognised NZDipBus Diploma Concentrations. Similar to the concept of selecting a “major”, these concentrations mean you can focus your studies to the area in business most relevant to your career goals.
Concentrations available include Accounting Technician, Non-Accounting, Tourism Management and Banking*. These concentrations demonstrate your area of specialty and open up further career opportunities. For example, the Accounting Technician concentration meets the academic requirements for entry into the College of Accounting Technicians, with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Consult the Course Planner in the School of Business Programme Manual, or on the website, to see which papers make up each qualification and concentration. Our staff can help you plan your choice of papers, to maximise your achievements.
The Vision College curriculum emphasises real-world application taught in small, collaborative classes, or online. Coupled with a focus on ethics and values, the Vision College School of Business is your perfect choice. You will develop personally and professionally in a results-oriented curriculum that will pay dividends throughout your career.
