Saturday Music Workshops
Train with our Bachelor of Music tutors for a day!
Have you ever wanted to receive some high level training for your role as a musician, singer or soundie?
We realise that not everyone can take 1, 2 or 3 three years out to complete a Diploma or Bachelor of Music at Vision College... that’s why we have created these Saturday workshops - to enable you to receive advanced training from the expert tutors at Vision. This training will help strengthen both your heart for worship and your skill level as you serve in your church. We have kept the costs low to keep them as accessible as possible.
Three Streams Available
Individuals can choose either Sound Production or the Vocal Workshop 'Make the Most of Your Voice'. Or Whole Worship Teams can choose the Working With Your Worship Team stream.
Sound Production (For Individuals)
Live sound, AV and production techniques for church technicians. These workshops will cover the basics of church sound, including microphones, microphone technique, mixing techniques, sound theory and how to operate data projectors & PCs. Individuals can register for this stream.
Vocal Workshop: Make the Most of Your Voice (For Individuals)
The voice is the most important instrument in any worship band. Singers will be introduced to a range of skills through movement & vocal exercise.
Topics will include:
- Voice production – tone quality, range, endurance
- Posture & exercise
- Warm up exercises
- Vocal health
- Mixed belt
- The ‘Big Sing’ – the afternoon sessions will be devoted to whole group performance, putting newly learned skills into practice. Have fun and feel good!
Individuals can register for this vocal workshop stream.
Working With Your Worship Team (For Whole Worship Teams)
Whole worship teams can choose to register together for this stream.
Churches are invited to submit their complete worship team to work with our experienced tutors developing their skills and group sound. Teaching will include how to run effective rehearsals, band dynamics, timing, and how to create an appropriate atmosphere.
Bring three songs to work on, with copies of charts & music. Your team should already know the songs before coming. (If you wish to play a new song, team members must have already learned the song individually.) Bring your own instruments. A drum set will be provided. Keyboard or piano and amps can be provided if requested.
We can take a maximum of three teams per Saturday workshop for this stream, so early bookings are recommended.

Refund Policy
Payments made for Saturday Workshop registrations are refundable less an administration charge of $5 until 14 days before the workshop. After that time refunds are not available, but we are happy for you to change the name of the person registered for the workshop, even on the day.
